Originally from Chicago, Christy's Yoga journey began in 2005 when her stressful career as a trader assistant in London became too much for a good run to overcome. Upon moving to Hong Kong for 2 years, Yoga became not just her sanctuary but her whole life after her first teacher training in Hatha Vinyasa was completed in July 2007 at YogaLimbs in Hong Kong.

Immediately upon completion, Christy began her Yoga teaching journey and has never looked back. In April 2008, she spent a month in Thailand completing a 2nd teacher training, an Ashtanga-based Hatha Yoga certification, with Neil Barker and Paul Dallaghan. Christy has also completed workshops under David Life, Aadhil Palkhivala, Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, David Swenson, Ellen Heed, Sharath Rangaswamy, John Friend, and many more.

An avid athlete, Christy is especially sensitive to those with high stress levels, injuries, and athletic life styles that cause muscular stiffness. Her classes and private instruction will always be filled with positive energy and great music! Christy is a Yoga Alliance certified Yoga instructor, a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), and is also trained in meditation, stress management, detoxification, and yoga therapy.

Since July 2008, Christy has also been assisting in physical therapy sessions at various Chicago-based physical therapy centers. Tasks include: therapeutic exercise, pain management techniques, neuromuscular re-education exercises, functional activity exercises, patient education (i.e. ergonomics, posture). Experience has been mostly in: ACL/ varied knee repairs, sciatica, low back pain, rotator cuff repair, plantar fasciitis, and cervical (neck) pain. Such experience has greatly enhanced her abilities as a yoga therapist.

When not on the mat, you can find her enjoying her time outside, working out, traveling, reading, and attempting her hand at cooking of all kinds.
